We have been getting more and more traffic to the website lately. More and more people are finding the recipes through google searches, some of my current events posts have been getting hits from google, digg, or other social bookmarking sites. But to me the really interesting thing has been interest in the tuppercam.

This Saturday we went to Denise and Dave's for Tess' first birthday party. Tess was so cute in her little pink outfit, and Denise had planned what would be a great day for her.

The National Bird is a Thief

So we were up at the lake this past weekend, and there were some nuts out ice fishing. I suppose I shouldn't call them nuts, I don't know them, I just know that the weather was outrageously cold. It was somewhere around 10 below zero. If someone could explain to me the appeal of ice fishing, maybe I will get it, but for know I just think they are nuts. But that's not really relevant right now.

So these guys are out there ice fishing, and we notice (from the warmth of our house) an eagle circling overhead.

It is here... Inauguration day.

In a letter to congress a month before the emancipation proclamation President Lincoln wrote:
"The dogmas of the quiet past, are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise -- with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew, and act anew. We must disenthrall ourselves, and then we shall save our country.

Fellow-citizens, we cannot escape history. We of this Congress and this administration, will be remembered in spite of ourselves. No personal significance, or insignificance, can spare one or another of us. The fiery trial through which we pass, will light us down, in honor or dishonor, to the latest generation."

Enough is enough!

It's only Jan 14th, and I have had more than enough of winter. Maybe I need to get out snowboarding or skiing and I wont be so ready for spring already, but this cold weather is getting ridiculous. On my way to work this morning it was 6... and the wind was blowing a steady 15 or 20 mph. That's pretty cold. But up at the lake it was -16 according to accuweather. The High for Thursday is forecast as 0 (windchill -20), and Thursday night it is supposed to be -29 without the windchill. That's ridiculously cold! I think I'll go online and look for real estate in Aruba. I don't know about you, but I would rather live here

Tupper Lake in winter
Do you think the dogs would like living in the tropics? Who am I kidding... I love it up at the lake too much to ever move away from here. I guess I'll go skiing this weekend. But I still want to go someplace tropical for a vacation.
