After 4 days of demolition, the wall is gone. The stairs should go today, then hopefully there can be some building next week. I think that old wall surprised everyone with how sturdy it really was.
Big project at home. Big enough that I am not even attempting to tackle it myself. We are having the retaining wall and driveway redone. The work started yesterday, and of course, right from day one there were surprises. The old wall just does not want to come down. But progress was made. Here is a before picture, and where we are after day one.
I should have some better pictures along the way. Hopefully the project doesn't take too long though. I would like to be able to park in my driveway again soon.
Last night was the first Cruise-In at Guptill's in Latham. The weather was iffy all day, but it seemed to have cleared up in time, so we packed up the roadster and headed over. Of course the weather didn't cooperate 100%, there were a couple of passing showers, but there was still a good turn out, and we had a great time. Met some other roadster owners / builders, but they didn't have their cars with them because of the rain. Of course we took a lot of pictures. There are 175 or so pictures that I have uploaded to the gallery. Here is a little collage of some of them. Click the collage to go directly to the album in the gallery, or just click the Guptill's Cruise-in link.
I am made a slideshow of the pictures,a nd uploaded it to youtube. I'll embed the slideshow here for your viewing also.
On May 15th Brenda and I went out to Altamont to the Helderberg Mountain Nationals car show. It was a nice sunny day, but the wind made it cold. There were a lot of great cars, and we had a great time. Of course we took lots of pictures, and have an Album in the Gallery for it. Kere is a collage that I made of all the pics from the show. Click the collage to go directly to the gallery to get a look at the individual pictures.
I thought it would be nice to make a slide show with music with the pictures also, so here it is. Check out the video, or check out the Album in the gallery.
Desi has this strange habit of howling at the sound of the fire whistle or sirens when he hears them. Not sure what he thinks he is saying to them, but it is funny to watch. Here's a little video we got of it last week. Not his best performance, but he gets shy when we get the camera out.
