Molasses Macaroons

Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cup butter or shortnening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 tbs molasses
  • 1 tsp clove
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1 beaten egg
Molasses Macaroons
Instructions:
  • Cream shortening, add sugar, egg and molases, beat well.
  • Add remaining ingredients, mix well.
  • Roll into 2" balls, roll in sugar, and place on ungreased baking sheet.  Flatten slightly with fork (criss crossed).
  • Bake at 300 for 15 minutes.  Cool on wire rack.
