Ingredients:
- 1 Cup of uncooked elbows
- 1/4 Cup margarine or butter
- 1 small onion (about a 1/4 cup)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 Cup of flour
- 1 3/4 Cups milk
- 8 oz. cheddar cheese( I use mild cheddar cheese)
Instructions:
- Cook macaroni as directed.
- In a sauce pan cook and stir butter, onion salt and pepper over medium heat until onions are tender.
- Stir in flour, cook over low heat stirring constantly until smooth and bubbly.
- Stir in milk heat until boiling, stirring constantly for 1 min.
- Remove from heat and add cut up chunked cheese. Stir until melted.
- Place macaroni in a greased 1 1/2 qt cassarole dish. Stir cheese sauce into macaroni.
- Bake at 375 for 30 min.
